Expanding access to high-quality flood risk data

At JBA, we are committed to supporting global organisations with the tools they need to build resilience and address climate-related challenges. Through the DDP, an initiative fostering collaboration between public institutions and private sector organisations, we now provide the EIB with access to our comprehensive Global Flood Maps.

This agreement marks an exciting step in equipping decision-makers at the EIB with the data required to inform sustainable investments, manage risks and strengthen resilience across vulnerable regions. Covering every location globally at 30m resolution, our maps deliver vital insights into flood hazards, enabling projects to be planned and executed with a clearer understanding of potential risks.

Our Global Flood Maps are a cornerstone of JBA’s mission to support organisations with data-driven solutions to disaster risk management and climate resilience. The partnership with the EIB further demonstrates how these tools can play a key role in tackling global challenges, helping to ensure resources are directed to where they are needed most.

The EIB joins a growing network of global organisations benefiting from JBA’s Global Flood Maps via the DDP, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Inter-American Development Bank. These collaborations demonstrate our commitment to making high-quality data available to serve impactful decision-making and sustainable development supporting the most vulnerable communities worldwide.

We are delighted to partner with JBA on this valuable data-sharing initiative. Collaboration is essential to building resilience and working with JBA provides us with the tools and expertise to better understand flood risks and their impacts. Access to JBA’s Global Flood Maps strengthens our ability to make informed decisions that mitigate risk and promote long-term resilience for the communities we serve.
