In an era where data drives decisions, we take pride in using technology and expertise to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Through our collaboration with the Development Data Partnership (DDP), we are helping to build stronger, more resilient futures for communities on the frontline of climate change.
The DDP is a global initiative connecting development organisations with private sector data providers. It aims to promote the responsible use of third-party data to tackle complex development challenges.
As part of this initiative, we provide our 30m resolution Global Flood Maps to member organisations of the DDP, including:
Our maps help organisations better understand and address flood hazards, supporting critical decision making and resilience-building efforts.
Collaboration lies at the heart of what we do. By participating in the DDP, we can:
Our Global Flood Maps have played a crucial role in projects that directly address climate resilience and disaster preparedness.
Nature-based solutions for climate-resilient urban development in Nepal
In the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, rapid urbanisation has exacerbated the impacts of floods and climate change. Our Global Flood Maps contributed to a project led by the World Bank that integrates nature-based solutions (NBS) into urban planning. This initiative focuses on enhancing flood resilience while promoting sustainable urban development. By combining flood risk assessments with innovative NBS strategies, the project has helped inform investments in green infrastructure, such as wetlands and urban green spaces, to reduce flood risks and improve community resilience.

Assessing flood risks in Peru
In Peru, our flood maps have supported national efforts to assess flood risks in vulnerable areas. This project, led by the Inter-American Development Bank, focused on identifying high-risk regions and providing detailed flood risk insights to guide disaster preparedness and response. The data has been instrumental in designing targeted investments in flood defences and informing strategies for reducing the socioeconomic impacts of flooding.
